Safety Comes First with CFM Engineering

Safety is our first priority in "everything we do" at CFM Engineering. We are committed to developing, implementing and improving strategies, programs, management systems and processes to ensure that all our work activities uphold the highest level of safety performance and meet or exceed federal and state standards.

Our commitment is to:

  •       Develop and embed a safety culture in all our activities
  •       Clearly define accountability and responsibility for safety, strategy, plans, programs, and performance
  •       Minimize risks and hazards
  •       Ensure safe practices and procedures in all our operations, including safety standards for employees,
  •          site operations and subcontractors
  •       Continued development and improvement of our safety strategies, processes and programs
  •       Comply with and, wherever possible, exceed legislative and regulatory requirements and standards, including
  •          OSHA and MOSH (Maryland Occupational Health and Safety);
  •       Ensure communication of safety information and training
  •       Establish and measure our safety performance against realistic objectives and/or targets
  •       Achieve the highest levels of safety standards and performance in all our activities
  •       Ensure that the application of effective safety and health management systems is integral to all of our engineering
  •          and construction activities, with the objective of achieving the highest levels of safety standards and
  •          performance.

CFM Safety Record

CFM Engineering has an excellent safety record with zero OSHA violations and only one recordable incident on the OSHA 300 log.

Safety Training

CFM Engineering requires safety training for all employees.

  •       OSHA 10-Hour Course for Construction (and for General Industry for those not in construction)
  •       OSHA 30-Hour Course for Construction for Project Managers and other supervisory personnel
  •       MOSH Training for those working in specific fields, e.g. Confined Space, Lock Out/Tag Out and others
  •       Regular on-going in-house and jobsite training

    As part of its comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety strategy and program, CFM has developed and implements the following:

    •       Environmental, Health and Safety Manual
    •       Employee Safety Handbook
    •       Hazard Communication Plan
    •       General Job Hazard Analysis
    •       Daily Quality Control/Safety Report
    •       Health and Safety Audit
    •       Incident Report (with follow-up Root Cause Analysis)
    •       Hot Work Permit
